Allison Inquiry | Nicole Maurier for Abigail | Day 2 September 9th, 2026
Nicole Maurier speaks for her only child Abigail, a 24-year-old cardiology technologist who took two Pfizer doses to keep her hospital job under a mandate. She describes Abigail's diagnosis of a rare, fast-growing NUT carcinoma months later, her death six weeks after diagnosis, and a doctor's compensation form recording the cancer as post-vaccination.
Nicole Maurier testifies about her only child, Abigail Marie, a 24-year-old athlete and cardiology technologist at the Red Deer hospital who graduated with distinction and was, her mother says, deeply loved by her colleagues. Maurier says Abigail had drug hypersensitivities and felt strongly that the vaccine would harm her, but her employer, Alberta Health Services, enforced a mandate requiring two doses by October 15, 2021, and denied her medical exemption request, as did her lifelong family doctor. Abigail tested positive for COVID in August 2021 with mild illness. She received Pfizer on September 15 and October 15, 2021. About seven months later, Maurier says, Abigail developed nausea and difficulty swallowing, and in March 2023 a CT scan found a large right lung and chest tumour. She describes a rare, aggressive NUT carcinoma that doubled in size in two weeks, oncologists who had never seen such growth in someone so young, a collapsed lung, dangerously low platelets and organ failure, and Abigail's death six weeks after diagnosis. Maurier says her daughter's doctor completed the compensation program's medical form describing the cancer as post-COVID-19 vaccination, and told her doctors were threatened with losing their licences if they granted exemptions. She shares photos of Abigail before and during her illness.
